伊恩·麦克唐纳德（Ian McDonald；1960-）

生于英国曼彻斯特，1965年随家人迁往北爱尔兰。他创作过多部小说，其中以非洲为背景的系列作品Chaga被誉为“具有开创性的小说”，他也成为当代科幻小说的先锋人物。作品RIVER OF GODS、BRASYL和THE DERVISH HOUSE分获2005年度、2007年度和2010年度英国科幻协会奖。THE DJINN’S WIFE获2007年度雨果奖。他的新作LUNA被评论界誉为“发生在太空的《权力的游戏》”，目前被美国哥伦比亚广播公司改编成电视剧。
 

Ian McDonald was born in Manchester in 1960 and his family moved to Northern Ireland in 1965. The author of many previous novels, including the groundbreaking Chaga books set in Africa, Ian McDonald has long been at the cutting edge of Science Fiction. RIVER OF GODS won the British Science Fiction Association award in 2005, BRASYL won in it in 2007 and THE DERVISH HOUSE in 2010. THE DJINN’S WIFE won the Best Novelette at Hugo Award in 2007. His latest novel, LUNA, reviewed by critics as “Game of Thrones in space’, is currently being adapted for television for CBS.
